The Rock of Ifach Natural Park, or Parque Natural del Peñón de Ifach in Spanish, is an impressive limestone outcrop that rises 332 meters into the air, overlooking the Mediterranean Sea at Calpe, Spain.
Sometimes referred to as the "Gibraltar of the North," this natural wonder is a haven for hikers, bird watchers, and nature enthusiasts alike. Panoramic views, rich biodiversity, and an unforgettable coastal experience are in store when visiting the park.
The centerpiece of the park is the Rock of Ifach itself-a huge monolith connected by a narrow isthmus with the mainland. Hiking trails leading to the summit offer breathtaking views over Calpe, the Costa Blanca, and even the Balearic Islands on clear days. The main trail, although quite challenging, is able to be conquered by most with the proper footwear and determination.

The Rock of Ifach is home to over 300 plant species, some of which are rare and endemic, such as Silene hifacensis. For the birdwatcher, it's a dream come true-more than 80 different species can be found nesting on the cliffs, including kestrels, gulls, and peregrine falcons. For those that enjoy marine life, there are plenty of colorful fish and other species in the surrounding waters.
Following visits to the park, guests can unwind on the beautiful beaches at Calpe. Playa de la Fossa and Playa Arenal-Bol offer golden sand with crystal-clear waters, good for sunbathing and swimming. The rocky coasts are really good for snorkeling, diving, and kayaking for watersports lovers.
