Hey Lykkers! Are you ready to embark on a thrilling adventure through the vast, golden sands of the Sahara Desert?
The Sahara is one of the most awe-inspiring places we've ever explored, and we're excited to share our unforgettable experiences with you.
From camel rides across rolling dunes to stargazing under a blanket of stars, every moment in this magical place was a dream come true.
One of the highlights of our Sahara adventure was riding camels across the iconic golden dunes. We felt like explorers of the ancient world, trekking across a sea of sand that stretched as far as the eye could see. The camels, known as the "ships of the desert," made the journey surprisingly comfortable as we swayed with the rhythm of their steps.
The best time to go camel riding is in the early morning or late afternoon when the temperatures are cooler, and the light casts a warm glow over the dunes. Our camel ride took us to the heart of the desert, where we camped under the stars. The experience was completely magical, and we felt like we were part of the desert's timeless rhythm.
Another unforgettable experience was visiting Erg Chebbi, one of the most famous oases in the Sahara. This sprawling area of sand dunes reaches up to 500 feet tall and offers some of the most spectacular desert landscapes we've ever seen. It's a perfect spot for a day of exploration, whether you're hiking, sandboarding, or simply enjoying the views. The best time to visit is during the cooler months, between October and March, when the desert is more bearable.
There are plenty of guided tours available, and they typically cost around $50–$80 per person for a half-day tour, including transport to and from the oasis. During our visit, we also had the chance to enjoy traditional Berber music around a campfire in the evening, which made the whole experience even more memorable.
One of the most enchanting parts of our trip to the Sahara was the stargazing. The desert sky is unlike anything we've ever seen—so clear and vast that it feels like we were staring into infinity. Without the distraction of city lights, the stars seemed closer than ever, and we could easily pick out constellations we'd only seen in books before.
We spent an evening at a desert camp, lying on our backs and gazing at the Milky Way as it stretched across the sky. The sight of shooting stars and the distant glow of other galaxies was an experience we'll never forget. If you plan to visit, make sure to pack a blanket and enjoy this celestial show for yourself.

Traveling to the Sahara requires a little preparation, but it's well worth the effort. The desert climate can be extreme, with scorching hot days and chilly nights. It's essential to bring light, breathable clothing for the day and warm layers for the evening. We also made sure to carry plenty of water and sunscreen, as dehydration in the desert can happen quickly.
The nearest city to most Sahara tours is Marrakech, Morocco, and from there, it's about a 6-hour drive to the desert's edge. We recommend booking a guided tour for a more immersive experience. Tour prices typically range from $150 to $250 per person for a multi-day adventure, which includes transport, accommodation, and meals.
Our time in the Sahara Desert was an experience we'll cherish forever. From camel rides through the dunes to stargazing under the vast desert sky, it was a journey like no other. If you're ready for an adventure that will take you out of your comfort zone and into the heart of nature's beauty, the Sahara Desert is calling your name.
We hope you're just as excited as we are to explore this incredible destination. It's a place where memories are made, and we can't wait for you to make your own.
